Speaker on Selfhood in the Synthetic Age and The New World Re-Order

Board, Advisory & Executive Education Biography

Tracey Follows is a futurist, author and strategic foresight adviser who works with boards, executive teams and senior leaders to understand how technological, systemic and societal change will affect their organisations and the people within them.

She is Founder of Futuremade®, author of The Future of You, and creator of System & Self™, her foresight method for examining the relationship between external systems and individual agency. Her work helps leaders strengthen anticipation, adaptability and authorship: seeing change earlier, responding without losing strategic coherence, and retaining judgement in increasingly AI-mediated environments.

Tracey works at board and executive level through strategic advisory, board briefings, leadership and strategy days, facilitated foresight, executive education and bespoke futures programmes. Her work has supported organisations including Google, Sky, Virgin, Tesco and BAE Systems, as well as organisations across technology, defence, retail, housing, investment, pensions, engineering, telecoms and professional services.

Her approach combines futures thinking with decades of senior commercial and strategic experience. Across her career she has worked with hundreds of brands, corporations and organisations and has held senior international and C-suite positions herself.

Alongside System & Self™, Tracey is the creator of Me:chine®, her research programme exploring human–machine selfhood and the relationship between the machinable and unmachinable human. Together, this work provides leaders with a way to think about both sides of technological transformation: the systems organisations are building and adapting to, and the selves who must live and work within them.

Tracey is a Guest Lecturer at London Business School and was formerly Visiting Professor of Digital Futures and Identity at the University of Staffordshire. She is an Associate Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, is ranked among Global Gurus’ Top 30 Futurists worldwide, and was named in Forbes as one of the world’s Top 50 Female Futurists. Her executive work draws on foresight, strategic facilitation and education to help leadership teams move from understanding change to making better decisions about what comes next.
